  • How do I create or renew a subscription to the VGM App?

    Getting a Free or Premium Subscription for the BISON VGM App

    1) Go to the website https://services.bison-jacks.com/user/signin

    2) Register as a new user, or Sign in to your BISON account if already registered.

    3) Once signed in, go to 'Add Subscription' (button on upper right-hand side)

    4) Choose "BISON VGM App" as the service and select the term. (BISON can manually produce subscription codes and invoices if credit card payment is not possible.)

    Next

    1) Install the BISON VGM App from the Google Play Store if it is not already installed, and open the App.

    2) The Premium subscription gets registered with the C-Jacks, so have the BISON C-Jacks powered on nearby, and make sure the phone has an internet connection.

    3) In the App, go to the Settings menu (bottom right icon)

    4) Go to 'Subscriptions' at the top of the menu list

    5) Enter the code: XXXXX

    The subscription will find the C-Jacks and register with them.

  • How do I redeem a BISON provided Coupon Code?

    If you have been supplied with a coupon code from BISON, follow the instructions below to redeem the coupon with the BISON VGM App

    1) Go to the website https://services.bison-jacks.com/user/signin

    2) Register as a new user, or Sign in if already registered

    3) Once signed in, go to 'Add Subscription' (button on upper right-hand side)

    4) Select 'Redeem Coupon' and enter the coupon code: XXXXX

    5) Go to your Android phone or tablet.

  • Why do you have a Master Display and an App?

    The Master Display is required for BISON Scales to be approved in some countries, as the VGM App cannot be certified as a primary display.

  • Can I use the App if I'm using the Master Display?

    Yes. You can set the App to receive the gross weight wirelessly from the Master Display, giving you the best of both worlds - certified scales with the added functionality of the App.

  • What type of phone does the App run on?

    The App runs on devices with Android 6.0 or later and Bluetooth 4.0 or later.

  • Does the App run on Apple / iOS?

    No, the App runs on Android devices only.

  • Does the App run on a tablet?

    Yes, you can use the App on a tablet running Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0 or later.

  • Can I use the App on multiple phones?

    Yes, you can download the App onto as many phones as you like. The same App subscription can be used on multiple phones, but a subscription only works with one set of BISON Scales.

  • What information does the App capture?

    The BISON VGM App captures the container weight and weight distribution, time, date, location, as well as other information you may choose to enter. You can enter the container ID, shipper's name, door seal number, photos and more. Download the App for a free trial.

  • Does the App take photos?

    Yes, the App allows you to take photos and send these in an email with the weight record.

  • How does the App send weight records?

    With the free version of the App, you can email weight records to as many email accounts as you wish. For more information click here. With the premium version of the App, as well as emailing, you can send weight records directly to your own URL. Users need to set up their own webserver to receive weight records this way.

  • What is the ANGLE warning message?

    The scales have an integrated tilt sensor, which is used to check that the scares are vertical. The weighing accuracy is compromised if the load cell is not vertical. The ANGLE warning message flashes if the scale is tilted more than 3 degrees off the vertical axis. Check the scale is vertical and that the container is on level ground. Contact BISON for further advice if the problem persists.

  • Why would my App have suddenly stopped working on my mobile?

    It is possible that an update that we have made has compatibility issues with the hardware on your particular mobile. Contact BISON to receive a solution to this. Please provide the details of your mobile phone (make, model and version) which will assist us in helping you.

  • What if an employee downloads the app on his android device and leaves the company?

    The App can be installed on multiple Android phones and used with the same subscription code.  After setting up the BISON account, the first user (who set it up) can add other users from your organisation, allowing the account to have multiple users managing it.  So, there is no problem continuing to use the App when an employee leaves the company.

Calibration and More with the BISON Config App

The process of checking and calibrating your BISON C-Jacks is made easy with the BISON Config App. In addition to calibration, there are additional features in the App to help you configure and maintain your scales. The App's intuitive interface provides you with the following functions:

Diagnostics

The data from your C-Jacks provides the first clue about how they're performing. With the Diagnostic feature in the App you can check the key data from your C-Jacks and capture it in an email. This information can be useful for BISON's technicians to help you remotely by checking and diagnosing any issues you may be experiencing.

Auto-Configure

Auto-configure allows you to apply any changes made remotely by BISON's technicians onto your C-Jacks. You can download and apply any changes to the C-Jacks at your convenience, using the Auto-Configure feature on the App. No matter your location and time zone, as long as there's internet connection, BISON will help you keep running.

Calibrate Zero

The knocks and bumps of handling heavy containers can push the zero off. A short press on the yellow button each time you use each C-Jack will manually re-set the zero, but if you want to adjust it permanently back to zero, the Config App provides an easy way to do this.

Calibrate

The Calibrate feature guides you through the process of checking C-Jacks' calibration and applying an adjustment if it is required. It's a very straightforward operation and only takes a few minutes.
