MGF Logistics Streamlines Container Handling With The X Series

"The benefit of the Bison setup is that we no longer need a sideloader or loading dock, which helps us save space while still punching out the same volume of work. And when they're not needed, the units can be packed away and stored.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the lift capacity of the Bison X Series?

The Bison X Series has a lift capacity of up to 40,000 kg (88,000 lb). It is designed to safely lift and transfer loaded ISO shipping containers and high-value containerized assets without requiring cranes, reach stackers, or other heavy container handling equipment.

  • How does the Bison X Series work?

The Bison X Series attaches directly to the ISO container corner castings and uses synchronized hydraulic lifting legs to raise the container. Its advanced self-levelling system automatically keeps the container level throughout the lifting process, allowing a single operator to safely complete container transfers using a handheld controller.

  • What types of containers can the Bison X Series lift?

The Bison X Series is compatible with standard ISO shipping containers, including 20ft, 40ft, 45ft, and high cube containers. It can also lift many modified shipping containers and specialized containerized assets, provided they have accessible ISO corner castings and are within the system's rated lifting capacity.

  • Can the Bison X Series lift modified shipping containers?

Yes. The Bison X Series is frequently used to lift modified shipping containers such as battery energy storage systems (BESS), mobile power units, telecommunications shelters, process skids, modular buildings, and other high-value containerized equipment. Its self-levelling technology helps protect sensitive equipment during lifting and transfer operations. As long as a container has accessible ISO corner castings and is within the system's rated lifting capacity, the Bison X Series can typically lift it.

  • How many people are required to operate the Bison X Series?

The Bison X Series is designed for operation by a single trained operator using a handheld controller. Its fully automated lifting and self-levelling systems minimize manual intervention, improve efficiency, and reduce labour requirements.

  • How long does it take to transfer a shipping container with the Bison X Series?

The Bison X Series can typically transfer a shipping container between a truck chassis and the ground in approximately 10 minutes, depending on site conditions and the application. This enables organizations to complete container handling operations quickly and efficiently.

  • What applications is the Bison X Series best suited to?

The Bison X Series is designed for organizations that regularly handle heavy shipping containers and high-value containerized assets. It is well suited to logistics operations, manufacturing facilities, energy storage projects, modular construction, defence, mining, and other industries where fast, automated container handling is required.
