Introducing Globe Power USA

Globe Power is an Australian-owned provider of advanced solar lighting towers, known for delivering reliable, sustainable lighting solutions across a range of industrial and infrastructure applications. As demand for renewable-powered equipment continues to grow globally, Globe Power has been steadily expanding its international presence.

Most recently, the company extended its global footprint with the establishment of a new facility in Houston, Texas. This strategic move strengthens Globe Power’s position in the US market, enabling closer proximity to customers and faster response times across North America.

The new site supports the storage and distribution of Globe Power’s solar lighting solutions, forming a critical part of the company’s US operations. With a local base now in place, Globe Power is better positioned to serve its growing customer base while continuing to scale its presence in the region.

The challenge: how to handle heavy containers?

As Globe Power began establishing its Tomball facility, a key operational challenge quickly emerged - how to safely and efficiently handle container loads of heavy, solar lighting equipment. Setting up a new facility requires more than just space; it demands practical systems that allow equipment to be received, positioned, and deployed without disruption.

The operation would involve regularly handling high-cube containers weighing up to approximately 40,000 lbs, arriving several times each month. These are substantial loads that require controlled lifting and precise placement, particularly during the early stages of facility setup when workflows are still being established.

While crane rentals were an option, they would introduce additional cost, scheduling constraints, and unnecessary downtime. Coordinating external lifting services multiple times per month was neither efficient nor sustainable for a growing operation. Globe Power needed an independent container handling solution - one that could support both the initial setup phase and ongoing operations without adding complexity or delays.

A Practical, On-Site Container Lifting Solution

That’s where Bison stepped in. To support Globe Power’s US facility setup, Bison supplied a C-Lift M Series, a mobile container lifting solution designed for lifting containers weighing up to 44,000 lb (20,000 kg) on and off chassis.

With the M Series in place, Globe Power can position incoming high-cube containers on the ground, allowing quick, controlled unloading at ground level, and giving the team the flexibility to manage deliveries on their own schedule without relying on external cranes.

The collaboration extends beyond simply supplying equipment. With both teams operating from Houston, there are opportunities for Bison to work alongside Globe Power in the future, including potential equipment demonstrations and continued operational support as the facility grows.

"No loading dock? No problem. We needed to drive directly into a container to unload, and Bison provided the perfect solution. Their container lifting jacks lift containers off the truck and onto the ground - simple and safe.
